The thing is, though... it can be quantifiably demonstrated that I expend way fewer resources (time included) than whoever this infinityshock really is.
So no matter who the puppeteer is pulling all of those strings, I can absolutely assure that they are devoting more time to trolling this site than I even devote to regular-posting.

Seeing everyone this upset is all the more reason to keep going. Lanny dug his own grave on this one treating people the way he does and now he's getting what he deserves.
I can't say i'm surprised. I tried making an issue of this years ago and I was told to just ignore it while he never got banned once and I got banned multiple times for taking the matter into my own hands.
I'm glad I stocked up on the memes early.

I like you regardless of any affiliation you might have with "infinityshock"... Heck, it's even crossed my mind before that you two are one and the same...
But there are factors beyond the immediate that should play a role in all this dick-pic-spam.
I've seen Totse come and go, and then Zoklet come and go, and I just don't want to see yet another site be destroyed over, what I characterize as, a relatively petty grievance.
I'm not even going to claim that Lanny is the most objective forum-runner ever or anything like that. He does a decent job and all, but, no matter who moderates/administers an Internet forum, there will always be ways in which certain subjective aspects of themselves arise. But I really believe he's done a damn good job so far at keeping those COMPLETELY NATURAL tendencies at bay.
If I truly believed that Lanny was violating free speech in some significant/fundamental way, I'd PERSONALLY go and set up my own forum for everyone to migrate to...
At least, until I wind up dealing with a dozen or so "infinityshock's"... Everyone gets sick of it all eventually. -

That's not an opinion, or a preference, or a nice bedtime story, it's a fact. It's his own hypocrisy, and also his listening to and entertaining crybabies like Zanick, which caused infinityshock's (and others) free speech to be violated. Not an opinion. Not an empty attack. It's a fact.

I'll be the first to admit that I was on the fence about infinityshock's ban at first.
It could be debated until the end of time, and no objectively satisfactory resolution would ever materialize.
But Lanny had to make a judgment call.
And I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing.
It took less than a few weeks after my registering here to realize that infinityshock is unbelievably annoying.
But he actually was violating rules of common decency, above and beyond merely being annoying. ESPECIALLY now. Spamming Bill Krozbyby's dick pic everywhere is clearly a copy+paste agenda, and it's just plain obnoxious at this point. -

When he first got banned, he was just basically insulting people. Who cares? Members have been insulting other members since BBS time immemorial, so why should infinityshock be the one to have to take the rap? Lanny himself has doled out his full share of insulting posts as well, so it's not like he's some kind of angel, the angel he purports to be. Other users were doing the exact same thing. It's just that Lanny didn't LIKE infinityshock. But in reality, who the fuck should really care who Lanny likes or doesn't like? -

The thing is, it's not at all about who Lanny likes or dislikes, or who I like or dislike, or who you like or dislike, etc...
There are plenty of people who post here whose opinions can be down right revolting to me from time to time (but I still respect their right to say it). And there are even users here that have established some kind of personal agenda against me (*cough cough* WellHung, for example).
I wouldn't ban any of them.
And it should be pretty obvious that Lanny is doing the exact same thing. Finny could probably get away with, like, a weekly "I hate Lanny" thread in Half Baked or something... But straight up spamming every thread with bullshit (and I am talking about pre-Bill Krozby-dic-pic era), is just entirely counter-productive. -

I 100% agree with this.
Heck, even if 2,999 of 3,000 users voted for someone to be banned, that should not, in and of itself, determine if they get banned. BUT, there can be perfectly reasonable reasons to ban someone like that... I, again, refer to the shoe bots.
Why is everyone defending infinityshock, but no one rushing in to defend the shoe sales bots? -

Not exactly spamming, but that goes back even further to a mistake linked to none other than Lanny himself. Some of the more knowledgeable posters are not happy at all having to post in a discussion forum which has been allowed to be inundated by mindless kidiots, posting their own "spam bullshit", in such a way that trying to establish meaningful discussion seems preposterous. Lanny never wanted to set down any posting rules, and I called him out on that mistake on Day One. He was just like, whatever, "I'll err on the side of doing nothing". Well, guess what? Doing nothing also annoys and frustrates those users who would enjoy some meaningful discussion without being swamped with a bunch of garbage a two-year-old coulda done better. It's all a matter of respect, not only for the kidiots, but to the more knowledgeable posters. It ain't as cut and dry as you make it out to be.
