2019-02-07 at 8:12 PM UTCOmeprazole causes me to suffer bad gerd when I go off it. I got a prescription for a different PPI today, so I'll try.
Alcohol causes it for me. It has something to do with relaxing the sphincters in the stomach or some shit. Yeah they're called sphincters, nb4 infinitypost. -

Sort of. Chocolate bars, hotdogs. I think it was a combination of daily malt liquor, monster energy and chocolate, mostly. I read that chocolate has like 5 different ingredients that can cause GERD. I haven't drank in a couple days and don't plan on it within the next decade or so. I thought it was going to kill me.

Yeah, I think booze is one of the worst. Both alcohol and caffeine being addictive, bad combination. Seems it can lead to ulcers too, so that's more incentive to become a vegan or vegetarian.

It's like everything that tastes good aggravates GERD. Terrible. I didn't realize it was so common. Someone should start a GERD support group. It's a chain reaction when you mess up the stomach, or the liver, they're all connected. So it puts you at risk of other stuff if not treated. -
2019-02-07 at 9:18 PM UTCIf you take your alcohol anally, you won’t get gerd.

2019-02-07 at 9:53 PM UTCI think the math doesn't help. Stress is also supposed to be a factor, and I'm pretty tightly wound.

2019-02-11 at 4:42 PM UTCWhew. It went away. Still going to try to not consume as much junk but I found out weed can cause GERD. I think it's more certain kinds though.

2019-03-05 at 11:57 PM UTCFor real, though, I actually used to have bad GERD.
I took a prescribed proton-pump inhibitor for years.
Years later and I no longer take the prescription and still rarely have even acute acid reflux / heartburn.
I think it's largely based on dietary and lifestyle changes. -
