    Getting rid of guns IS possible...it just would take about 100yrs or so to actually happen, even if they banned them today it would take that long for those out in circulation to be turned in/rust/be confiscated etc. Still a journey of a 1000 miles begins with 1 step as the guy as the Chinese laundry near me says.

    Fear of guns is just as stupid and illogical as fear of them being banned. They're not unstable explosives. If your son is disciplined he will exercise proper gun safety. It really isn't hard.

    I own an XD compact, a .45 pistol. It comes in and out of the house in its case and stays unloaded. I check that shit like I've got OCD and didn't do it right the first three times.

    There is a difference between hate and fear. I obviously don’t fear guns considering I’ve shot skeet before, in my 20s, but I do not like guns around me, plain and simple.

    They're simple and well made. M1, M2, Springfield, M1911, Karabiner 98k, ppsh-41

    All still in production and found on battlefields all over the world. I believe the US military still issues the M2 and the M1911. Ppsh is incredibly common in the middle east as well.
