   they make shit wages too. first year is 17 an hour even in San Francisco. you have to carry for a year in the shittiest routes and you have a one year probation. if you're a vet they almost never let you go. which is a good thing considering they risk their lives and all.. but some of them have serious issues and not on meds and sometimes they're videotapes drinking and sleeping in their trucks. but someone like me, a non-vet would be let go if I didn't make the status qua
   
   this was told to me by a few carriers I spoke with and saw a documentary on it.
