Drive inns. We had one in our town and there were probably 50 in the Bay Area.

It was a reason to get the fuck out of the house and meet up with friends from highschool or college.
and us who were in Middle School, we just hopped the fence or our brothers brought us in the trunk for free to let us go sit over at the projector shack next to the snack shop. sometimes your brothers would accidentally or purposely forget you were in the trunk and you screamed until they let you out.. making you look like a bitch when people around you pointed and laughed at your stupid ass.
Walking the hall of shame between cars over to the projector-shack to sit with your other loser friends not old enough to drive a car.
