2018-11-29 at 4:38 PM UTCFuel is a sensible thing to have a high tax on as it is simple to tax, evasion is hard, and it is something you want to discourage use of, especially from a balance of payments POV as it either has to be imported or could be exported.
It's quite silly not to have expensive fuel prices and use the money for sensible things that actually contribute to the economy. Take away Cletus' money and spend it on things like science or infrastructure. -

Just millions and millions of little scooters all flying around and big trucks right next to them, nobody paying any heed to traffic signs or signals and lots of death, the type of death that's so frequent people don't even stop to look or help.

You can go 120 miles on 1 gallon of gas on a scooter...I had one years ago...tank only held 1.2 gallons and only had to fill it once a month or so.
Of course 6'4" me looked a right twat on a tiny scooter...I remember a car full of girls pulling up along side me and yelling "Give your little brother his bike back!"
Joke was on them though...I was getting 120 miles to the gallon. -
