Is it normal for my vagina to have odor?
Yes. A million times yes. All vaginas have a unique scent, which can be made more pronounced by things like sex, sweating or having your period. Your nose will be able to tell you when your natural smell wears off.
Why does my vagina have a bad odor?
There’s no shame in asking! While yeast infections are not accompanied by a strong odor, Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) and Trichomoniasis (Trich) are. BV is a common infection caused by the overgrowth of natural bacteria that reside in the vagina and is often accompanied by itching, white-gray discharge and a strong, fishy odor. Trich is the most common, curable STD and is usually accompanied by itching, burning, redness and a frothy, yellow-green discharge. If you experience either of these symptoms, we recommend you consult your doctor. -
