    So between April 14 to September 26, totse.com was said to have never been spidey it's the longest duration of any year by waybackmachine (because they scrubbed pages and edited or redacted others)

    Cool little article, I never saw that before. I was hoping he was gonna name drop my meat raffle scam.

    He's right though--BI was the draw. I didn't LURK long but I spent a few weeks mostly just reading as many of the BI threads as possible. I was definitely fascinated by the detail in the stickied shoplifting thread, or the Amazon return scam "just say the box was empty" meme that seemed to be prevalent at the time.

    After I made an account I stuck to bad ideas for a little while still and I didn't even really think about the rest of the forum until I got to know a few users in BI like unstable and bling, then I ventured to the rest of the SHIT SHOW and met a lot of interesting and fucked up people, and I guess I just felt at home.

    Sad that I didn't find sooner. Even toward the end I still found there was plenty of meaningful discussion compared to forum drama, definitely more so than here. It's kind of the mindset, like someone mentioned the users who just browse the topical forums and ignore the community cringe fest, it's all in our point of view.

    Anyway I'm high on resin. Thank you.

    That's what it means to scrub.

    I thought maybe robot.txt had allowed them to retro delete them. but Im told it doesn't work that way. So that means someone forced the people at archive to do so, or the people at archive are in fact friends of Jeff.

    also note, that for archive.org, Aaron Swartz was trying to get shitloads of public domain books from google who refused him the bandwith.. and so I guess at MIT or someplace he made shitloads of accounts and got busted. looked at 30 years in prison by the FBI who busted him. so he commited suicide. He wrote a piece on totse making me think he was once a totse member.

    but to be honest finding out somenoes "details" isn't that bad like most peoples names and numbers are on facebook and in the phone book so whats the difference?

    i've literally had my phone number and mugshots posted multiple times over the last two years telling me to leave nis and nothing has happeded lol
