I'm going to buy an Oculus Go and install Plex, then stream my media collection from my nas at home while on break.
There is an employee lounge and we get an hour for break so I'll be in there wearing my go with my headphones completely immersed in my own private world while people go about their business around me, I'll be completely oblivious to them.
Another great thing about this is they can't see what I'm watching so no one will know if I'm watching boku no pic or not ^_^

Watching 2d video in VR is pretty garbage, quality is deteriorated and you have a chunk of metal strapped to your face. Only marginally better than watching on a phone, which is cancer in its own right.

I spent over a hundred hours watching video in Riftmax with my dk1.
With the Rift CV1 and Vive having much higher resolutions then the experience must be good enough.
With another generation the whole resolution being an issue will be a thing of the past.

    This is the future though.
I'm not even going to buy an hdtv.
I'll just get a crt then for hd widescreen I'll use an hmd.

not sure if this means the genre of cyberpunk which predates steampunk. but that old ass game Myst would be pretty awesome in an AR like oc game set.

Also BF42 or Delta force would be pretty sweet. CS is not appealing to me.

I mean if you're a video pleb maybe you can tolerate it, not my fault I enjoy non-shit-quality video. Like just think about it, you effectively 1080 resolution for your whole FoV, you don't want to push the edges of the screen into peripheral vision, so a priori you're going to experience downsampling and related artifacts due to the resolution mismatch. The content doesn't have stereoscopy anyway so you're not getting anything from that, there's the annoyance of having a heavy chunk of plastic and circuitry and optics strapped to your face, the "theater lighting" thing is a meme with zero actual value. You just think this is a good idea because you want it to be but it's not.

Zuckerjedi doesn't control the entire ecosystem.
I will stick to Bigscreen VR and Plex, rather than Facebook Video or whatever they come up with.
It's your issue that you have a myopic view of virtual reality.

Also no I'm not a video plebe, I'm just not a picky little bitch like you, I can tolerate the way things are while happily awaiting what will come in the future.
In another generation the resolution will probably be high enough to eliminate the whole screendoor effect, until then I'm fine with slightly sub-par visuals.

Watching your Zogulus Rift during brief breaks from work instead of socialising with your colleagues is pretty sad.

I was into Oculus long before facebook ever bought them out.
I started following them and Palmer during the summer of 2012 when he was in talks with John Carmack on the MTBS3D forums, then they ran the kickstarter and I bought a DK1.
Those were the golden days of VR, a time when it was truly user driven and independent, a time which will never come again sadly.
The moment there were articles that the hooked nosed kike reptilian was walking through the offices of Oculus VR, everyone knew it was over.
I'll stick with Oculus in spite of all that because the early days are still near and dear to me, no kike can take that away from me.

Also that photo is stupid and irrelevant.
People can look mindwashed and like a drone regardless of what theyr'e using.
Ever been in a conference room?
    Own a television?
    Gone to school?
    Own a smartphone?
Stared at any screen period in an audience?
Then you have done exactly what those reporters are doing in that pic, the only difference is they're completely immersed.
