Why has Trump avoided the "Opioid Crisis"

2018-09-07 at 7:59 AM UTCYeah, I've always been for full legalization, allowing people to be as self-destructive as they like. Unfortunately though, that doesn't take into account the large segment of the population with no common sense or self control who would drive a bus or operate a crane on PCP without giving it a second thought.
Everyone who posts on this site is of average or better intelligence, and we have people who drink DVD cleaner, shoot beekeeping supplies and huff shit fumes - what does that say for the other 50%? -

okay but if you allow people to destroy themselves does that mean the tax payers has to pay for their healthcare? libertarian dumbshit pseudo anarchist ideals don't hold in a reality where people have vested interests in things, like not paying for junkies. -

taxes on sales, education and training would completely negate those costs if we're still in a world where people could use them semi-responsibly -

more taxes is somehow always the answer
most of life should be illegal to the subhuman scum that walk this planet, everything they touch it turns to shit. it doesn't matter if its drugs or doing something productive. the idea that people will responsibly use powerful drugs is expecting people will responsibly use power, this is laughable, especially for the lower classes that are most drawn/vulnerable to this shit (negative feedback loops) -
2018-09-07 at 8:41 AM UTCI'm not talking about 'special' new taxes or anything though, just drugs being taxed in the same way as any other luxury goods.
And yeah, that's kind of what I was initially getting at. -

Thats why I mentioned my future machines installed in every vehicle which detect what substance you are on, and if you are too intoxicated to drive. If so, you will be locked out of operating that machinery.
The detection machines are trick proof and if you damage or open the casing at all the nano fiber will tear and set off an alarm. It's software is updated daily with new research chemicals. -

We'll have mandatory self driving cars before this could happen. The car would have to give you a blood test every time you needed to drive
I feel like cell phones and distracted driving are far bigger concerns than driving under the influence of things that aren't alcohol -

If you're going full sci-fi why not just have self driving cars.
In the future if you're driving and aren't drunk the cops will be suspicious. -
