MMQ is correct. If your family doesn't have dysfunction you are either delusional or an alien hybrid.

Whether you had a functional or dysfunctional family, you spend the rest of your adult life getting over your childhood anyway.

There are different levels of dysfunctional. Acceptable and extreme. Kids ending up on drugs or jail usually have no life and the type of childhood you have is important. Whether you're poor or rich if you have no guidance chances of survival are lower and parenting at this point is a joke. Family units started falling apart when feminism was introduced in the 60's and 70's and socialism destroyed the rest.

Defensiveness when your opinion is challenged is a sign that as a child/young person your opinions were not valued and/or were ridiculed by your parents and those close to you.

It's retaliatory and reveals the deep seated dysfunctionality and low self worth you have and that you continue to struggle with.

Actually spot on.....if you read the responses the majority of posters have to anyone who disagrees with or opposes their opinion

Neither pessimistic nor optimistic.....a simple observation is all 🧐
