What qualities will you require of your children?

An affluent lifestyle with a functional, romantic, long term relationship, personally fulfilling projects and the reflective joys of raising a child, why is it surprising that people would aspire to that?

I mean is it realistic? No. HTS is a tranny and I'm an alcoholic, we both hate ourselves, APPARENTLY my love is not reciprocal, a large chunk San Francisco is a sewer, the public education system is hot garbage, the cost of living in the non-sewer parts of the city is absurd, HTS's parents would probably hate me, my family would probably hate her, you can't really garden in the city, HTS would quickly come to resent me for being more domestic and I'd resent being the bread winner and maid.

But you know, what's wrong with a dream? What do you aspire to faggot?

It's like you kicked Penny (our adorable and inexplicably asian daughter) to death while inside HTS's man-womb. You fucking monster.

I don't expect my child to be born as the personification of logos. The whole point of childhood is to be a learning process. I don't expect my child to always be perfectly logical, nor do I expect that raising them will be easy.

I also don't expect logic to be the solution to everything; I deal with unreasonable people all the time, that's most people, including me. I've said before, I even think it's alright to hit your kids if it's a matter of needing to gain compliance.

However, disciplining your child should always be a problem solving measure, not a means for catharsis. If I have to do something I wouldn't like someone doing to me as a child, then I will make sure my child understands why exactly I did that, and that it is coming from a place of reason and love.

Lots of parents just beat their kids because they don't want to deal with their bullshit. Except that's your job as a parent, to deal with your child's bullshit. If you do not have the patience to raise them right, don't have kids.

Very good. That’s a bit more realistic.

Some of the feelings that come with children:
Unconditional love, worry, fright, pissed, excitement, sadness, joy, rewarding, embarrassing, frustration, anger, understanding, self awareness, self doubt, and then more love. Then when they really piss you off.......love again.

    You have to be a:
    Parent
    Educator
    Nurse
Toy repair person———which later turns into emotion repair person
    Psychologist
    Confidant
    Cook and cleaner
    Punisher

Both these lists could go on forever. Just a tip of the iceberg!

My position hasn't changed one bit, your understanding of it has.

My position as an authority figure in their life will be built off their respect for my rationality, knowledge, experience etc rather than purely because I shot my load in a woman and society grants us power over the results.

Ok but I still think it’s a bit idealistic which is fine. I think every non-parent has a vision in their head of how things will be and how they will be different from the unfavorable parts of their own childhood.

Yeah no shit. The best I can do is set my goals and try to achieve them, and my goal is to raise a human being that has rationality and compassion as their core values.
