Independence Day is annually celebrated on July 4 and is often known as "the Fourth of July". It is the anniversary of the publication of the declaration of independence from Great Britain in 1776. Patriotic displays and family events are organized throughout the United States.

So...only stupid people would recommend celebrating the Fourth of July on any day other than on the fourth.

Actually, my little municipality has been having their festivities since last weekend (rides, music, games, music, etc.) while the City of St. Louis will begin tomorrow with the official reopening of the Gateway Arch grounds after several years of renovation. They will have national music acts and the air show returning over the Mississippi. A whole week as well as two weekends celebrating giving those no-good Brits.

Um no, according to my logic (re: not having a holiday midweek) good Friday should be on Good Friday..on the date that makes it on a Friday...and is...duh.

Same for Independence day, the official "holiday" day could be on the nearest Friday or Monday (after all the holiday is "independence day"..NOT '4th of July day"...like Easter. Clearly they think celebrating treasonous behavior is more important than the death and resurrection of Jesus though...lololol
