   Perhaps a few rock bands did live in the Oakland/Berkeley hills in the day
   
   Metallica lived near the Oakland Hills in El Cerrito for a while
   
   Y&T (Rescue me) probably lived in the Oakland Hills or Haward.
   
   Testament (Probably Berkeley)
   
   MC Hammer lived in Fremont which is East Bay south of Oakland
   
   Mr Armstrong from Green Day and his wife live in the Clairmont Hotel in the Oakland hills.. but most rock bands from San Francisco probably lived in the filmore district in large victorian homes. Greatful dead is one of them.
   
   I think Grace Slick lives in Mill Valley or somewhere near by.
