I listen to metalcore, post-hardcore and pop punk the most, but I can listen to anything, from classical to trap to what-have-you. EVEN country. But the bulk of my music collection consists of the earlier three genres I mentioned. I have to say that the first two are an acquired taste.

I am not taking a jab at you,i am genuinely curious. As a Muslim do you often listen to Nasheeds as well? I may not see eye to eye with Islam on a number of issues but music is universal and i have no problems admitting that i find Nasheeds to be beautiful, generally speaking.

Actually, no, I don't listen to nasheeds. I don't know of anyone else who does in real life, either. This is the closest that I enjoy that comes to a nasheed. The singer here recites the 99 names of God. Here, let me know what you think.

Having said that, I don't even watch Islamic lectures. I don't follow any scholar, either. I would say I'm a minority who does this, though. But, I prefer to do research before I come down to a conclusion, as opposed to listening to a scholar and taking his word for it. Truth is, that opinion could simply be his only, or that of a select few, and I don't want to be influenced in my beliefs by others. I only stick to the Qur'an and trustworthy ahadith. I'm not fond of going to the mosque, and maybe most absurd of all is that I don't care about the Palestine/Israel issue and I would actually say I am more supportive of Israel than any other Islamic person I know. So in conclusion, I am far from your typical Islamic person, but, I wouldn't say I am a liberal. I am more conservative, actually, and I sympathize more with right-wing groups than I do left-wing groups, but, I do draw a line when it comes to violence. The reason I like islamophobes is because they are honest about their beliefs, whereas liberals are indirect islamophobes which I don't like, because they pretend to like us when in reality they despise us when they realize we won't adapt to their beliefs. And for the misguided ones amongst us that do, I have no sympathy for them with whatever befalls them. There is no place for reforms in Islam, there is no "liberal Islam" or "radical Islam," there is only Islam. And it is not "a religion of peace," it is "a religion of justice."
