What are you doing at the moment

Sounds like my place. I bet 5 trees have fallen on the lines knocking out power on my road the last year. You would think the fuckers would cut back some trees.

I ordered a DNA test kit. I'm nervous about it. My cousin's came back as 2% jedi and I'm concerned because I had an English granny. If I find out I have little celtic blood I will be devastated.

Nvm it won't show my paternal ancestry at all.

I don't trust anyone mass-collecting DNA maps, let alone Blackrock on a shopping spree

Why? Aren't they just making money?

would you assume people buying up huge volumes of weaponry have no intention of ever using them? population-level DNA analysis has value that goes way beyond the monetary

Blackrock recently bought out Ancestry.com and all their data, the same company that acts as an arm of the US Federal Reserve, and has been buying up literally everything that isn't nailed down

I didn't use ancestry.com, they won't ship here because of Brexit.

What value would DNA analysis have?

a few years ago US/NATO biolabs in Georgia and Eastern Europe were canvassing for DNA from people with specific regional Russian heritage, the concern being that it was being used to configure bioweapons to attack specific populations. such a thing would require a large amount of DNA samples and accompanying information to calibrate properly; if you're trying to create a virus or bacteria that only attacks a specific ethnic group you'd need a lot of wide-ranging data to be able to draw the 'boundaries' for who gets sick and who doesn't. I expect most countries with active bioweapons programs have at least experimented with the idea.

less directly though, what do you think of determinism? how much of your behaviour could potentially be predicted based on your DNA? if a company had access to millions of peoples' DNA and had many of them tied to things like social media profiles, advertising profiles and government records, what conclusions could they draw? would that information be useful to predict and manipulate social behaviours, consumer habits and voting trends?

when this power is held by small groups with no accountability to anyone, what are the chances they'd act to their own benefit vs. any sort of ethical framework or metric?

I am nothing like my mum or her family. On the inside my spirit is similar to my dad's, the same kind of moral compass but it isn't always there and on the outside I seem like a monster. Neither of my parents really knew me.

I imagine Vinny likes to fuck with people in real life. I wouldn't give any jedi company my DNA, unfortunately the FBI has my fingerprints because of my security clearance in the navy or I'd be clear.
