   Going to the doctor today and hoping he doesn’t put me in the hospital. I believe I have ulcers again, I just hope they’re not actively bleeding. I drank alcohol last Friday, and soon wished I hadn’t. Sharp pains coming from my stomach, and now it’s inflamed. Dammit, I hate hospitals.

   I have to go into the hospital twice a day right now for IV antibiotic treatment (stepped on broken glass, got an infection, etc).
   
   It is a really annoying hassle.
   
   Not to mention, much like pretty everyone else in the world, I don't much care for hospitals either.
   
   So just know that you are not alone.

   I get re-evaluated tomorrow morning based on the results of a second blood test.
   
   I might get to be switched to oral antibiotics, which would be much better.

   Yeah, that would be great. I was so glad when they took my line out after 6 months of at home IV therapy. After that, I was on oral for four more months. My intestines are fucked.

    Ouch. So the IV was stuck in you for the whole 6 months? I've had mine hooked up for about a week now and I'm already finding it both annoying and uncomfortable, and occasionally painful.

    Yeah, mine was an indwelling PICC line. Straight to my vena cava. I had to give myself 2 kind of antibiotics daily for 6 months. I had to keep it flushed so it wouldn’t clot off. It was a pain, but the pain I was in from having an abcess on my spine was the worst pain of my life. I got that from a surgery that left me with an infection.

    Yeah and there’s no recourse. Infections are a possible side affect from any invasive procedure. I signed a waiver to that affect. I believe the instruments used on me weren’t sterilized properly.

    I agree, but I just have to deal. I ended up with a brace on my leg because the abcess impinged on the nerves running into my leg. I have a drop foot on that side, and the nerves probably won’t regenerate.
    
    
    I sterilize instruments, and I am anally meticulous about it.
