2021-10-24 at 11:15 PM UTCJust got back from 7 mile range where I sighted in the 6.5 Creedmoor's new scope, and finally fired the M1 Garand. There were maybe a dozen other shooters there today. I took the M1 in a rifle sock and didn't make a big deal out of it when I removed it or loaded it. When the first clip emptied and it made that ping for a brief second everyone on the range looked like a myrrh cat when they popped their heads around. LOL

I thought you lived in a more modern house with a Garage. those dog fences are handy and all but I would dress it up with bamboo roll or change it out with a wooden runner. chain link fences are rare in California. people got them banned in many cities citing they look "Ghetto" and bring down property value. but they're the same assholes who ban RVs in driveways as well. -

Garage is a gym/dojo currently, chain link is indeed for dogs, backyard has 7 foot wooden privacy fencing. I'm in-between properties w/ the inherited spots, haven't decided if I'm going to stay put or move to one of them as of yet. -

the saddest thing is these same assholes who banned RVs on peoples own Driveways (I can see street parking being a problem) also banned Outdoor clothes lines because they're part of the "brownzone" issue. a code meaning any property with cars parked all over it or trash. sometimes people like to have air dried clothes because they smell nicer. these people want green power but not a dry caddy in the backyard.
