I really want to have kids, because I know I'd make a great parent.

  1. #1
I wouldn't abuse them like every other parent. I'd treat them decently, and be on their level. Like, a parent talks down to a kid, you know? I'd get down on their level to talk to them, so they don't feel inferior. And I'd never get mad at them. I'd just let the mother be the one to do the disciplining, and then they can hate her instead of me.

But it'd be really selfish of me to bring children into this fucked up world. If I ever did, I'd make sure that I was at least really rich first. I'd at least give them the best quality of life possible.

If you want to have kids but don't want to be selfish, just adopt

Gotta tell you though, if you have anger issues, you probably shouldn't have kids

This is just my personal belief and I haven't seen any studies on it, but I think that having the mother do all the discipline will give your children some rather serious difficulties when they begin dating

By the time I'm rich, hopefully my anger issues should be less.

One time a girl said to me, "Dude, you'd make a great father, you're scary as fuck when you're angry. They'd do as they're told." And I'm thinking WTF? How is that a great father, you fucking DEGENERATE CUNT? You're what's wrong with parenting. I would NEVER be "scary" to my kids. I would never bring life into this world just to get angry at it, that's so fucked.

Yeah I’m kind of with you. I actually remember being a kid unlike most adults who completely forget that shit. So I’d be able to sympathize.

I disagree about the disciplining part, I’d do that. Women don’t know how to discipline children. They just scream and bitch about stuff, they don’t educate. You need to make an effort to make sure they learn the right lessons, not just make them resent you for fucking nagging all the time while doing nothing to prepare them for life.

Children need both masculine and feminent role models; without the balance they tend to have trouble socialising

My family tells me I'd make a great dad but I don't really think so. I have anger issues, a high chance of falling back into drug addiction, and some rather serious mental issues. And there's all kinds of fucked up shit that has run in our family.

That being said though, I wouldn't mind adopting a child or two if I was making at least 100k a year, and if my wife could stay at home with the kids to care for and maybe eventually home-school. I firmly believe that if you can't have at least one parent able to stay home with the children 99% of the time, you should not have them.

But the way I would raise my kids would probably get DSS called on me. Not that I'd abuse them, but they definitely wouldn't be getting babied all their lives either. There would be no tooth fairy, Santa Claus, etc. And no phones unless they can pay for it themselves.

I’m honestly starting to think “you’d make a good parent” is just like a generic compliment people say to each other without giving it any thought whatsoever.

Like “you look good today” or “that’s a nice hat”

True, that's a good point about the women disciplining.

Yeah I remember being a kid too. There are so many things I hated about my childhood that I promised I'd never do to my kids. First of all, taking them to run errands with me, like shopping, etc. BORING AS FUCK. I would never subject my kid to that shit.

Also, leaving them to stay at my grandparent's house. That was fucking shit, I remember always crying myself to sleep being away from my parents, and just wanting to be back home where everything was normal.

Hmm what else... oh yeah, getting in trouble for swearing. My mom would actually chase me around the house trying to kill me because I called her a bitch once. I remember that vividly. That was fucked! I know it was different because I called HER a bitch, but the point still stands. I got yelled at from my grandma because I said "what the hell?" once.

Um, what else did I hate? Oh yeah, if my kid had a bully at school, I'd actually get revenge on the bully. SWIM would kidnap him and hold a knife to his throat and say if he ever fucked with my son again, his whole family would be killed. Okay, maybe that one's an exaggeration, but I would seriously not let the bullies get away with anything.

Hmm, what else am I forgetting? I remember being pissed that I had to eat healthy, and not just eat candy all the time, but I couldn't let my kids do that. I'd have to explain that eating too much junk food really will fuck with them.

I wouldn't fight with my wife when they're in the house, either. That shit was traumatic to listen to.

Yeah that's fucked, I wouldn't be able to lie to them about santa and the tooth fairy and stuff. Ugh, but then do I lie to them about God? I don't want them to go through all this existential bullshit that I'm going through.

Good luck trying not to fight with your woman. It’s like impossible to not fight. Over the years I’ve been completely desensitized to arguing in inappropriate situations. Like before I’d just be like “let’s talk about this later, don’t make a scene”. Now I’m the guy who’ll be there shouting at a bitch at a funeral or something.

Also I found it interesting how you automatically assumed your kid would be male. Like you can’t even imagine having a daughter huh lol. That would be such a disappointment for you right

Oh, I tried to cover all bases and say "them" when referencing my kid, but I just noticed I subconsciously let "him" slip out a few times, lmao.

But no, if I had a daughter that'd totally be cool, as long as I got to have a son as well. Lol imagine the fucking irony if I ended up having daughter after daughter after daughter. Then I finally got a son and he wanted to change his gender.

I would hope that I would love my wife and therefore never fight with her. My dad hated my mom, he cheated on her all the time etc.

Let's not get into a discussion about religion here, but I would take them to church with us until they were teenagers, maybe a little earlier, and from there I would allow them to make their own decision whether they wanted to go or not.

I know when I was a teenager, my parents always forced me to go, and it just made me resent them greatly and pushed me toward atheism, and eventually, Satanism.

Shit maybe I hate women more than you do cuz I can’t even IMAGINE being in a relationship where we don’t fucking argue all the time.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll let them decide for themselves. I think that's what my parents did. Probably the best option. And then they don't suffer existential dread when they're children.

It’s not your thread we can talk about whatever the fuck we want.

On that note, fuck church and fuck god. Organized religion is cancer.

Scratch that, all religion is cancer

This is part of the reason I don't want kids and don't want to get married. I don't hate women, but I definitely don't trust them, and want to be able to leave a relationship at will. I've seen too many relationships in my family where they will be great until they get married or have kids, then one or both of them turn into complete pieces of shit

I already had existential dread starting when I was 5. I remember sitting in a bathroom thinking about death and crying and my mom knocked on the door and asked what was wrong and I lied and said I was sad about finishing kindergarten soon and not seeing my friends anymore or something (total bullshit, I hated school and didn’t have any friends)

She won't argue after a swift backhand to the face.

But seriously, from what I remember in my relationship, the only times she started arguing with me was when I actually did something stupid, like did drugs, or made us miss the last bus home because I was completely wasted and had to run off it just as it was about to leave, to go throw up everywhere lmao. But in those instances I defused her yelling by acting "cute" I guess. She said every time, "I can't stay mad at you", which I've heard a lot. I must have some kind of charm. Hopefully that's the same in the future.
