Does anybody here have HPPD?

I have it pretty strong. It's not unbearable static like some people get it, but I can see patterns appearing in my vision, especially with my eyes closed, almost all of the time, and I can consciously manipulate my hallucinations so that I feel like I'm tripping even when I''m sober i.e. the psuedohallucinations are interactive and controlled. I'll give an example of the visual phenomena I am experiencing at the moment. Looking around, everything is in a very, very mild multicolored static which is only noticeable when you purposely try to look at it. When I look into the distance I can make the fuzz take on somewhat geometric forms. I can auto-kick the derealization of bundy into gear, and I can move things in my field of vision slightly by staring at them. With closed eyes, I'm getting a vague image of an ovary or a penis in blue static in front of the black behind the eyelids. Do meditative techniques increase visual hallucinations? In fact, I'm really curious in general neurotransmitter manipulation by conscious though. Like, would it be possible to achieve significantly altered states of consciousness with only endogenous neurochemicals? If there's a free acid trip burrowed in my brain somewhere hell yeah I'd take it. I wonder if HPPD is a form of receptor rebound.. Like, the 5ht2c receptors get antagonized leading to a particular secondary messenger pathway when psychedelics are ingested, and then this antagonism distorts perception and feedback inhibition in optic nerves, leading to an exaggeration of certain elements, an inconsistent recurrence of specific optic networks resulting in visual pattern hallucinations. NMDA antagonists instead of working on feedback inhibition, which is the reduction of neural activity after a specific metric of signals have been sent...work by inducing sensory shutdown, with NMDA receptors turning off less essential neural networks and leaving a more basic brain which in turn has to use its energy to "fill in the blanks" induced by the shut down neural circuits, so the more essential neural circuits induce hallucinations so that your brain isn't processing absolutely nothing. Anticholinergics I'm not so sure about, I know choline converts to acetylcholine and this is an important neurotransmitter for muscle contractions as well as learning...so I guess a lack of choline causes a sensory shutdown which isn't a true deactivation of neural networks, but all the neural networks you typically have become weak and aperceptive, just like your muscles become weak. Then coupled with the dysphoria, when your brain tries to fill in the blanks, you get spiders. Not sure about cannabinoid 1 receptors either but I think the psychedelic qualities might have to do with the induction of neurogenesis. The only other receptors I can think of which may be implicated in hallucinations and schizophrenia is the kappa opiod receptors. I've never gotten high on salvia before so I can't really make any assumptions on what it's general properties or mechanism of action for hallucinations is. Guided meditation alongside foods that increase specific neurotransmitter levels or act as weak versions of these drugs (especially certain herbal teas) might have some promise for those dedicated to a spiritual experience. I consider the little temple I see in the back of my eyelids when I close my eyes to be the home of my consciousness, looked at from an alternate entity's perspective. I call it the Temple Of The Sickness, because Candiria (which is a shitty hardcore band) made an album called that and the album cover is quite similar to the hallucination. I also masturbate without any porn half the time because I just visualize the sex.

it really really doesn't. I only processed a few chunks before my brain told me to go and fuck myself.

I'm surprised I don't have any long term effects from going hard into the delerients those few times, but maybe I do and just don't realise it. it's hard to tell when you're losing your mind

I frequently binge on drugs that are supposed to cause HPPD and I don't have any permanent damage at all. I used to buy sheets of acid and take it every day, even at work. I took bundy every day last year up until December. I've been abusing DPH for almost 5 years now. I'm currently on a MDMA binge and I don't think 3.5 grams will last me another week.

I developed HPPD after a binge on DOM, it's been like two years now since I've had it? I don't know. It hasn't gone away because i keep ingesting psychedelics I think. It's gotten better and worse at times. It's getting worse lately. Things are moving/breathing/waving a lot.

Maybe you should stop doing drugs and give your brain/mind time to heal, you goddamn idiot?

You should have done this a long time ago. And by time I mean more than a few weeks, more like a year along with heavy supplementation to promote recovery. That is, if you're serious about preventing schizophrenia and ending up like your aunt and other mentally ill relatives.

Please stop with the self righteousness. You are not an outstanding model of mental health yourself.

Ok I'm starting to get HPPD now from the binge. I'm totally sober and yet the way this screen keeps hue'ing in rainbow you would think I am at the peak of a roll or something. I got the 2 for 1 earli beard special Oh yeaaah it's like paying for drug abuse and getting a perpetual hallucination for free!.

From wiki. "Symptoms often get worse when focused on."
It's like those damned eye floaters. Everybody's got them, but you only notice them if you look for it.
People who have taken hallucinogens are simply noticing slight visuals in every day life which have always been there.

HPPD is made up I'd say, but looking at OPs paragraphing I'm not so sure anymore.
