^^^^I think that could be the problem for a lot of us.

What is the answer though? God maybe. Some kind of spirituality. Otherwise you just think that everything eventually dies, including life itself. So there is no point in anything. Even if you see yourself living on through your children, everything in the universe will eventually die off. As someone pointed out in another thread, all of the theories of time and space are no more valid than the theory of a creator, or the idea that consciousness is something more than just something created by the human brain.

    I remember you.

The difference between science and religion is the difference between the quantified equations of mathematics and the unquantified equations of metaphor. Those who cannot focus their mental scope with sufficient precision to count must guesstimate relationships by comparing superficial attributes to derive meanings from their experiences. The errors of both science and religion are produced by logical deductions made from inherently faulty language, but the errors cannot be perceived by people who mistake their words for real things and their language for a real map. The nemesis of abstraction is that the symbol becomes the reality, and the individual differences in the real world are occulted behind the Veils of Maja. As the focus of the mind shifts from the immediately tangible world to verbal concepts, the mind becomes separated from the body and both lose their health. Paradise is a myth about a preverbal Consciousness, before men created words and subsequently mistook the symbol (idol) for reality (God); the Fall of Man and his Expulsion is the consequence of worshipping verbally fashioned images. Philosophers pretend to lead us back to reality on ways paved with more words of higher abstraction, like devils promising to lead us to Heaven. If the devil is the Father of Lies, words are surely the Mother. Philosophic disputes are word wars; those who live by their words also die by their words.

Words are ultraspacial structures created by abstracting common features of significance while ignoring unique features. Words amplify similarities and eliminate differences by wave interference. Words are the product of fusing all the unique images of several structures into an ultraspacial gestalt. A gestalt exists as an extension of its material manifestations in the form of a trajectory through time and space; a mental concept extends through no fewer than four dimensions. The minds comprehends the dimensions of time; this is why intelligence is identified with the sense of time. Abstract verbal concepts are understood only as they can be comprehended within the temporal dimensions of one's mind; a mind is perceived to grow to the extent that it perceives precedents and consequences. Athena is merely the god of intellect; the ruler of consciousness is Kronus, the Overlord of Time and Change. Conscious mind is a creation of words. Experiments have found that people lacking the words to describe subtle colours are also unable to distinguish fine differences in hues, but as soon as they are given the words to define the differences between crimson, scarlet, and vermillion, for example, they no longer see all reds as red. Poets expand the common Consciousness by giving new meanings to old words and by coining new words. The meaning of music is the gestalt; otherwise it is only notes; the beautiful sensation of music is produced by experiencing the energy of the gestalt amplified by harmonic resonance with each note. Likewise, the meaning of life/reality is in its gestalt, a synthesis of all its disparate parts in a higher dimension of consciousness.

Remember building that? I do. I also remember you having a crisis of your own, telling me something along the lines of how you couldn't bear to stop believing in God even though you knew it's illogical. Anything changed since then?

OMFG OBBE, HOLY SHIT, I THOUGHT YOU WERE THAT "BUILT TO LAST" CHRISTIAN FAG HAHAHAHAHA.

I've been looking for a way to contact you for literally months!

Also, yes, a lot has changed. Have you read Kierkegaard's work??

Well it looks like you finally found me. No, I have never heard of Kierkegaard. Why don't you tell me a little about him and about how your life has changed?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%B8ren_Kierkegaard

Kierkegaard was a Danish philosopher. There's not a lot I could tell you that wouldn't be better told by reading his Wikipedia page, except that reading his work created the first major upheaval in my way of thinking, as opposed to the gradual changes a person usually undergoes. I imagine it feels something like how Stalin must have felt upon first reading Das Kapital. The view I began with has not changed, but the result has indeed. I would urge you to read his Fear And Trembling, and The Sickness Unto Death, they are both relatively short books and though he was a Christian thinker, I think the ideas he introduces and tackles are bigger than that.

As for my specific changes, I think that this thread is probably not the best place to discuss them. Would you care to PM me? also, do you still have a minecraft server? I can't log on to the one we were on before. I quite liked talking to you in that setting.

I would like to discuss it in PM, but I don't believe the PM system is working correctly, unless Lanny fixed it. But try to send me one and we will see if it works.

I no longer have that server, most of the people that were on there lost interest eventually and we stopped paying for it. However, later almost the entire crew got a renewed interest in the game and still play minecraft, on a different server run by another group of people.

    The server is: aztecmc.org

If you want to talk to me there I will probably be on there later tonight.

Yeah it breaks a lot. I'll try to log on tonight, then if not maybe tomorrow. Anyway, good to reconnect with you.

Yes, it is. Do you know what the deal is with Lanny in this thread? I would like to hear a third parties opinion on our disagreement.

What happened Obbe? I knew it was you but the race stuff threw me off.

Also UM, maybe you could try sucking my dick. It helped your mother cope with having such a bitch for a son.

How is it racist to think Islam is taking over Europe?

I didn't say racist. It's a matter of race, though. Yea, I know, it's a religion but fuck that. You are against Arab immigration to Europe in general because you seem to believe that we should sacrifice the people who flew from Muslim terrorism, dictatorship and war because we can't keep them apart from the actual terrorists who pose a threat. I mean, they are all ragheads. Mhmm... maybe it's racist. Y'know, I'm definitely not team Muslim but I'm absolutely against another war in Germany.

I don't believe Europe had any obligation to take these people in. And that a large amount of them are liars tearing up their documents and claiming to be Syrian just to get it. Islam is not compatible with Western ideology. Nobody wants to have a war but you Europeans are basically facing your own genocide.

So what are you trying by posting your retarded video? You have no idea of Europe. We don't want you American scum here just as less as we want the Arabs but you guys don't care either. We are fighting YOUR wars in Europe now and we don't have any weapons because you took them away from us. I'll listen to your word when you are on European turf and this becomes your business. Until then it's like me getting my jimmies rustled over niggers in Baltimore and Detroit, saying that Americans aren't real men because they don't stop this.

Have you ever been in a fight, Obbe?
