   A derogatory slang term for lower class whites raised in rural areas, usually within trailer parks or hog farms. Generally used more for Midwesterners than Southerners (see: redneck)
   General defining characteristics of a hick: Protestant upbringing, usually Baptist; racist and sexist opinions; does not attend collage ; dumber than a post.
   
   my dad is part hick/ redneck, except he's not uneducated. Just really baptist but managed to get out of his small town when he was younger but has moved back with my mom and is falling back into his roots.
   
   Its funny cause my dad's brother in law is a total hick he's not in an insiduous way, he honestly just can't help himself I think he owns a sheet metal company which is cool, they used to live in a trailer and he would just work with sheet metal and make dick/shit jokes and drink a lot of beer. He had a huge belly
   
   and was racist, but not overly, just I can see how some of the things he would say some people might take too seriously. He was funny but a total derpadew for sure.

   just depends where you go, texas gets a bad rap, but its such a big state theres all different kinds of places and people. But the worst place I've ever been to is oklahoma.
   
   But my daughters mom faked me out huge time, I met her through some people and she acted very well spoken and polite, but when I met her family she completely was acting different, total hick.
   
   I went over there one time after my daughter was born and her dad was outside getting shit faced burning trash and I went inside and sat down waiting for my daughters mom to come back from their neighbors house and her mom was drinking and was all lound and shit and was like "yeaaaah doug, we know we're rednecks!" as if I was judging them but I actually wasn't.
   
   Her grandma went on about how my gf is a hoity toity city girl.
