   Adolf Hitler is the subject of dozens of biographies comprising thousands of pages of thorough research; even more pages and research have been dedicated to the Third Reich, from the Nazi seizure of power to the last weeks of April 1945. Few even mention the role drugs played in Hitler’s rise and suicide on April 30, 1945, or their role in the lives of Reich soldiers expected to push their physical limits more as the war became less winnable for Germany.
   
   By the end of Hitler’s life, Morell was using him as a guinea pig, injecting him almost daily with cocaine, meth and homemade steroids made from the offal captured at a series of Czechoslovakian slaughterhouses Morell planned to use as the base for a pharmaceutical empire. Perhaps most amazing in a book full of revelations is the story of the navy’s crusade to send one- and two-man submarines, manned by sailors forced awake for days by cocaine and meth, across the English Channel.

   That looks like a good read. From what I understand, Hitler was a fucking pincushion by the end of the war. Morell had him on like 20 different drugs. Fun fact; Hitler took shit from healthy soldiers in the form of a pill to combat stomach problems, the logic being that feces from a healthy colon contains good bacteria.

   The allies where just as bad from what I have read. Amphet was regularly given out to pilots as a matter of course, and I am pretty sure Churchill was also on meth at various points.
