The reasoning is pretty simple. Once women entered the workforce, every family was supposed to be producing double, thus earning double.
Instead, wages got cut in half. Now having two working parents is a necessity to be even lower-middle class.
And we're pissed. Democrats want free stuff because they can no longer afford stuff on their own. Republicans want less competition in the labour force to increase wages.
In any case the common enemy is the 1%.
The 1% is a myth. They have no real control. I'll say it again. If you can know their name they are not in charge. -

Quite a few of them are in their mid to late sixties. So they were at least late teens back then. I don’t think anyone on this site except spectral can give us the opinion of someone in their 70s-80s -

Yanno, I really feel sorry for our country. The division is massive, but it’s not just that. It’s the way Americans have not just hated others for their political affiliation, but they are turning violent over politics, fucking politics.
I have never seen such hatred over politics in my life.

The bad aliens easily manipulate them, because they are of such low integrity, and they allow them to gather wealth and power, but the moment their usefulness runs out they'll be going right into the ovens, too, just like everyone else. Their gold and their silver won't save them from The Beast. Nothing will. They are doomed, by their own works, and through their own affiliation.
