2020-02-21 at 4:32 PM UTCI find a lot of the first-person shooters from the late '80's and 90's had a lot of Easter egg phrases or signs on the walls or in-game messages and alerts that foretold the future with eerie accuracy. Like 9/11, and other major catastrophes yet to occur.

I can't remember the exact examples, but I can recall one was KingPin: Life of Crime, and you're in an old abandoned underground subway tunnel and as you're advancing down the tunnel there's graffiti scrawled on the wall and it says "The Three Towers Gang" and then there's an old ripped and beat up poster tacked the right and hanging underneath that says "CALL 9-11!". Not "CALL 911!", "CALL 9-11!). Spooky as all hell. The aliens must get these messages through to the game programmers somehow, and they get them to put them in as Easter Eggs. Just laughing and chuckling at us all. I remember some of the games you would see this is Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Duke Nukem, HalfLife, No One Lives Forever, Kiss: Psycho Circus, Redneck Rampage, Blood3D, and many others.
I go back and re-play vintage games a lot, and you get to see all this shit they knew about back then. -
