The Blade Runner movies

Just watched these two movies today. Amazing films, so emotionally impactful.

The original blade runner would never get made today. It has fat people like Bryant in it - I'm pretty sure it's illegal to be a fat slob nowadays, or smoke indoors. Although I did see the police chief in 2049 crack out a bottle of booze in her office. Lots of drinking in both films, which is something I was struck by. Deckard is pretty much an alco.

And Deckard pretty much raped Rachael in the first film too. And in the second film the wimpy hero fucks a hooker. Oy vey, not very feminist frequency.

I really enjoyed the landscapes and architecture of both films. So amazing. I want an office with shimmering water.

The characters in both films are flawed and assholes, which makes them seem so much more realistic than the cleaned up, presentable and forgettable characters found in many other films.

Also Luv is one of the best villains I have seen. Both her and the wimpy hero are competing to be the best, which I found compelling.

Harrison Ford is still a shit actor who should have stuck to playing Luke Skywalker though.

Blade Runner is overrated and not as good as the moviephile retards would have you believe.
Ghost in The Shell, Ergo Proxy and Serial Experiments Lain are much better Cyberpunk moving pictures.
As for 3DPD, go watch Enter The Void.

Only great thing about Blade Runner is Rutger Hauer.
Haven't seen or have any desire to see any other Blade Runner out there now or in the future.
More of a Indian Jones 1,2,3 fan...the rest is whatever to me. Burn them all.

I don't agree but I must thank that post. Its definitely one of his best and I think very few other actors could have done so well in that role. Most of them were dead by the time that movie was being made though. Plus I believe most actors would OVERACT in the part. He always had a certain level of detachment from each of his characters. No knock on Nicholson, Pacino, De Niro...but dudes like that would go WAY OVER THE TOP in a role like that.

Hitcher and Night Hawks for me... Both brilliant but even than so much more could have been done with them.

Mark Hamill played Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford played Hans Solo, and you play with your poo.

I saw the original but was in the brunt of xanax withdrawal almost having seizures so I remember very little of it. I really didn't like it much though. I thought it was pretty dull and slow and didn't have much ambition to see the new one
