And do they play it? I searched and it seems theres a northeastern american league but I always imagined it as a midwestern game, played on the plains. It's actually Canada's National Sport (along with Hockey) and is probably the oldest North American game, invented by natives and played on huge fields. It's kind of like a game you would make up with neighborhood kids when you were bored and unattended so it got very violent. Apparently people would be killed during matches and there would be no stoppage, just a shoveling off to the side.
It seems to be making a sort of youth resurgence and is a dynamic, physical, skillful game that I've never heard a THING about south of the border so I'm wondering if Americans even know about it. It's pretty difficult and violent and early incarnations had spears on the net. Makes American football look like European Soccer.

It’s very big where I’m at. I never really heard of it being played in the schools, till we moved here.
They start ‘em out young and serious.
Here, lacrosse is more for your wealthy folk, but that’s changing since it’s in the schools.

They’re serious AF here. But we are in a good school system. The wealthy folks
send their kids to all kinds of camps and learning clinics.
Yeah I’m in Ohio. I know a guy who played lacrosse for OSU but was recruited by the New England Patriots to play football.
