    You don't have to, you can run it on an Oculus Quest $399 + tax. Quake VR itself is free.

    You can do all that on the quest..moreso as you are not tethered like the vive. The Quest, not the GO.
    
    I've got a Quest and a Rift S...(the controllers are the same) I use the Quest 80% of the time because it's stand alone.

    interesting. i know they released a new oculus maybe it was quest recently but wasnt the selling point of the vive thst it was more interactive and special than oculus? or is that out the window now?
