The mind is a meat radio.

I have heard this a fair amount recently. I dont think I agree with it but I see it as a practical metaphor on a number of levels. It first implores one to consider what "frequency they tune themselves to. More importantly after that examination they may then consider methods of tuning that frequency. I think some will be lead to wonder what frequencies are trying to tune into them.

    This is how schizophrenia starts.

dude i agree. the mind IS a meat radio.

it's a receiver and amplifier. thoughts don't happen in the brain. the nerves are wires. the muscles and glands are speakers and subwoofers respectively.

Freewill is a sort of illusion. You are not the author of your own thouhts; that would require that you think about what you're going to think about before you think it. Thoughts arise in the mind due to a combination of forces, some of which you have no control over at all.

Shit OP, I'm sorry but that is some Swiss-cheese epistemology.

free will is an illusion, but so is determinism.

I didnt say this was a solid theory. I said it was a solid metaphor. Learn words yo.

If determinism is an illusion can you explain how the mind is a meat radio, a receiver and an amplifier?

I wrote a an entire book dealing with epistemology and other methods of reasoning to acquire knowledge (srs) and Zanick used it in the correct context. I know nobody will believe that and I'm NOT going to dox myself here, but its really easy to see how its epistemology if you bothered to even google the word.

    -people believe this
-im going to investigate if this is true
-here is why it might be true
-look a conclusion! (not actually needed for epistemology)

How about instead of being a knock off slut you actually discuss what topics were presented in the OP rather than nitpick over if my post is or is not epistemeology.

Why bother? It's already clear that you're both an idiot and a lunatic. Act like either and you shouldn't be surprised to get called out on it.

A radio requires a listener. Yeah everthing is just different electrical inputs, but until you listen to it, then it's as useful as a radio in the middle of the forest with nobody around. I suppose it supports that there is no free will, but in that case it's more just an analogy than a spiritual item.

We are kind of back where we started. Why do we have the sensation at all? Why did we even adapt to become a receiver? It's evident we are just "experiencing" everything. But we have been built like a radio to experience it, you can stick a rock in front of the TV and it won't feel anything different. You can smash it to pieces and it would logically have to "feel" something, however rudimentary, otherwise how could ever adapt to nuances like sound and colors.

first, explain what you think the two things {determinism and the minds radioactive nature} have to do with each other, and second, explain if you're aware that a radio receives and amplifies?
