I've never been outside of this country. I'd like to go on a vacation somewhere since I've been working a lot the last couple of years and have a good amount of money saved up. I was thinking of going to Thailand for the beaches and nightlife but was also thinking about just maybe going to Grand Cayman Islands. I'll likely also go to Vegas for a short vacation and go to Seattle a few times on three day weekends.
I'll be doing this alone as well.
As far as traveling goes, what is needed? Obviously I'll need to get a passport, but is there anything else? How much will a passport cost and how does the whole process work? Will the passport be valid for a specific time period?

Passports are valid normally 10 years.
I would say stay away from Europe, it's fucking shit. Cayman islands sounds good. Thailand is a definite.

Dont go to Thailand if u plan on doing drugs, other than alcohol. Thats a big no-no.
It's really stupid to travel these days, with all the evil going on across the planet right now. If something happens to you, you would fully deserve it.

I'm not into drugs. I'd likely just drink a little and party at night. Maybe chill out on the beaches, swim, hike a little in the daytime. Along with visiting tourist areas. I like it how everything is dirt cheap even nice hotels($20 a night for very nice resorts).

I believe that's Cambodia. I'm not sure what's even in Cambodia and why anyone would travel there. Thailand has cheap food and beer and nice beaches and a party scene. I think these are nice beach hikes in Thailand as well.
