A split in civilian ranks would also cause a split in the military. If enough units with enough equipment deserted to the other side, you could have a really bloody mess on your hands.
In the end though, any military would be unable to police an armed population that's willing to fight. As has happened in Vietnam and Afghanistan. No military unit is going to fight their own civilians without some hesitation. The second amendment as such still serves its purpose today by arming the civilian population.

Like I keep trying to tell y'all, control freaks. Control freaks are the biggest threat to the human race and to civilized society as a whole. These are the last kinds of people you want having power over the rest of us. Yet they are taking power through accumulation of wealth and control of corporations that control the media, banking, military and technology and many others. They make puppets of our governments and politicians then use their control of the political process to further their own control freak agendas. When we start to realize this then we can look to producing a system that identifies the control freaks within our society and put measures into place that would limit their ability to turn our systems to their own advantage. Just like we currently identify criminals, terrorists, sex offenders, drug users etc and put limitations in place to limit the destruction that they can do to our society.
You just need to catch up with my forward thinking guys. I'm just way ahead of y'all is all, but you'll all get there in the end tho.

But lies can be very destructive in certain situations. Lies are the tools of the control freaks who are attempting to get an entire nation dancing to their tune. Setting society up to work in their favor to the detriment of the rest all while hoodwinking the people into thinking its all actually for their benefit so they go along with it. But you could safely bet that that is what he is really up to. Wealth and power, the power to accumulate more wealth to accumulate more power to accumulate more wealth. Money and power and making more of it so as to retain it to make more of it is all these control freaks are about.
