Do you think child abuse is a good thing?

2020-01-26 at 2:49 AM UTCScience shows that hitting your kids only brings about mistrust and causes permanent psychological damage. Proper parenting comes from leading by example and using praise for good behavior. Make your kids want to be good instead of making them want to avoid being bad.
Cant handle not hitting your kids? Don't be a parent.
I saw hydro hit her 1yr old son once because he was crying. It just made him cry harder. He had no idea why his mom was hitting him and was just upset because he was in a carseat or whatever. Of course she diminished it by saying it wasn't that hard. I'm glad she doesn't have custody because she definitely would've kept escalating that as he got older.
I also have a cousin who was smacked as a child. They used a wooden spoon. Guess what? He's still a little shit. He just learned to hide being a little shit in front of his parents. Super nice kid in front of 'the adults'. But an absolute fucking monster otherwise. This kid called me a stupid retard noob for not knowing the controls/any of the players on some nba game. He's violent and manipulative and gets upset when after his tantrum, nobody wants to play with him. He usually sulks off to play games alone in a room. It's honestly sad. Evidently he's a bully at his school too. He also called me fat even tho im 6ft and 160lbs as an adult and he was like 11, about 4ft, and 180lbs. One time he literally got stuck in a closet and I had to lift him out. Me and my brother still laugh about it. -

Originally posted by mmQ That's what I'm asking tech. You're one of the few people here with adult kids so, what is the line? If I just refuse to do what you say starting from a very early age and continue to be like that, how do you fix me, or is it your fault that I'm like that in the first place? What if I'm autistic? Lol
I’m kinda pissed at my son right now, so my answer might be skewed. Lol
I can’t tell you what I think someone should do, I’ll just tell you what I did.
It only comes into play once they start walking. A smack on the hand for touching the stove, a swat on the butt for getting into others possessions, etc, etc.
Once they move past that small age, a parent has to pick their battles, as with anything in life. He had to do some pretty crappy shit to get a whoopin. I have that voice that stops a child in their tracks, and then........the look. I can’t really say this or this got a whoopin, and this or this didn’t get a whoopin. What works for one kid may not work for others, so it’s on a case by case basis. Having said that, I hated hitting my kid.
Once he was old enough to own games, phones, TVs, then I’d take them away for a period of time.
His teens were tough, but we both survived.
After 18 it’s GTFO, or follow my rules. He GTFO. I wanted so bad to help him but I didn’t. He had to learn on his own, and he did.
We are very close now, except for right now😁 -

I got beat and i'm perfectly normal. Some kids are just bad and enjoy getting into trouble, they need to learn that life sucks and if you act like a retard someone is going to want to hurt you, even your own parents.
It's humbling. -

Whoa whoa whoa.
I have no problem with someone slapping a child, on the face or hitting them with a belt. But spankings are not cool.
There are too many girls in this world with spanking fetishes probably from some freudian association shit. It's disgusting and those parents should be ashamed for touching their kids asses. -

2020-01-26 at 3:06 AM UTCI dont get why the method of abuse would make a difference.
I like to think (as I'm sure any potential parent does) that I would raise my kid up the right way to where by the time they are getting into their toddler+ years they will know things like how to be polite and respectful and do chores and whatever.
But I realize that obviously doeant always work out that way. So I wonder what the hell I would REALLY DO. And sadly I can see myself depending on the situation resorting to more drastic shit.
I personally don't think I would ever like physically paining my kid but I might get off on some weird psychological torture. Akin to taking away their privileges. But if that doeant work than what the fuck.
Cuz I mean I joke about CAGING them like an extreme time out, but then that is probably ultimately going to fuck with their head.
So then just burn them alive in the oven but then they're dead so that doeant work either. -
2020-01-26 at 3:07 AM UTCHave you ever tried simply turning off the TV, sitting down with your children, and hitting them?

2020-01-26 at 3:10 AM UTCSome of the most fucked up kids I knew grewing up were ones with very strict parents that were against beating them. I was straight edge and thought drugs and drinking were bad but these kids with their nice helicopter parents would sneak out, smoke cigs, get drunk, do pot, have sex and cause trouble. I was never like that because I knew if I got into trouble my mom would slap my shit.
Those kids purposely got in trouble and did retarded stuff because they knew there was no real consequence and they could just sneak out and do it again because their parents are weak. -

2020-01-26 at 3:13 AM UTCIn this video this kids grandma says "I would whoop his behind if I wouldn't go to jail for it" and she was right to want to beat that kid. He deserved it.

2020-01-26 at 3:13 AM UTCI just feel like I would be a good parent and I would know. I would use treats and tricks techniques.
"I dont wanna clean my room"
"I don't either but it's what we have to do."
"No it isnt Dad whatever who cares if ky room is messy?"
"Good point son that's actually a good point. Do whatever."
And then when they're at school I would fill their room with trash and garbage and shit so that they coulsnt even walk into it.
Then when they complain I'd say "WELL WHO CARES IF OUR ROOMS ARE MESSY, RIGHT BABY WREN??" -
2020-01-26 at 3:14 AM UTCYou would name them Baby Wren?

I'm an adult. I am a bit fucked up but it has nothing to do with my parents, it's a totally different issue. My parents have a lot of guilt for how I grew up but I tell them I don't even care because it made me a strong person.
If they didn't beat me I would probably be dead or in prison. -
