Should I pay Dan Lok $50,000 to help grow my business? That's what he charges for a one day consultation.

Save money diligently because you won't get external funding for growth.

Spend money for Google ads and learn how to do it well. Google has a series of certs for their ad services that you should learn in their entirety, it's all free. Not kidding. If you want to stretch your promotional and effort dollars, this is the way. You could spend 10 hours jacking off on forum posting to promote or work 1 hour at McDonald's for $10 and buy like 400 precision targeted impressions towards interested people.

You should probably just find a way to put that in a nest egg tbh.

Depends entirely on the losses and the connections.

Understand that you are gonna have to spend money to make money. Lots of small business owners get stuck in jedi mode where they cannot understand how to put their foot forward. You definitely don't want that because you should always be looking to grow responsibly. But every dollar you use should be spent with consideration to your maximum benefit.

This is the sort of thing you should usually keep a petty cash fund for. Budget for it. Don't let it get out of control. This is the "take potential client out for a chicken" fund.

thinking more in the sense of time and inputs beyond merely buying in. Think internships, or a low paying position/contract relative to value provided.

Oh. Lol. Yeah probably, again it really depends. Always be applying for better jobs and don't be afraid to jump ship to a higher pay but yeah if you want to get somewhere specific the. You have to figure out the right sacrifices to make.

Internship/contract with the intent to get hired probably isn't the best. It definitely happens but it doesn't seem like a great plan just because you're betting months/years of your time on something that may or may not happen and is beyond your direct control. If the experience is meaningful/helpful externally when you're looking for your next gig elsewhere then it's probably worthwhile.

I have a couple of businesses, none of which I think you would have any useful advice for. I guess the only thing would be "how much should you advertise before the peak season vs during the peak season?"
