One of my biggest hurdles has been solved. I needed music and sound effects but I am trash at making 8 bit music, it's really hard.
So I had a better idea. I'm just gonna rip music and sound effects that were never used in video games but still exist in the game code. I think this is legal?
The game should be a platformer set in the "niggas in space" space station. Each room themeed on NIS historical events/threads. Example, a room/level with test tubes and the like to represent the Better living through Chemistry forum.
The main Character should obviously represent Bill Krozby with might I suggest an 8 bit boner that bobs as he walks along to represent his most famous image.
Collecting objects in each room as he goes, the objects could be anything from drug related paraphernalia to job application forms. The last room should be his bedroom, entrance to which is blocked by a massive slampig until he has collected all the objects.
ETA: The last room could also be the bus stop with the end scene being him getting on the bus.

The current design of the game is a top down adventure style like Legend of Zelda or Startropics. But I also want to make a platform game. The program I use to develop has "modules" which set things like screen position and how sprites are drawn and move around so you are somewhat locked in to that genre of game. But it is possible to make something like Legend of Zelda II with side scrolling sections but it's a lot of custom scripting, I don't think anyone has figured it out yet.

I really need a lappy for development. Windows XP ain't cutting it. How much is the shipping on one of your machines?
I dunno without address but probably cheap like 20 bucks or something.
