They were DDoS's IIRC i don't think any data was actually compromised. Personally i think it's good service. Never had a problem with them, their VPN is also good. They have a mode that allow you to connect to i2p servers too and a mode where ou connect to a server that will route your connection from there through the Tor network.
I would recommend just using Tor on your end if you are using it to run utilities and tools more generally. But i thought it's a cool feature regardless.

The big advantage of it for me is how easy it is to set up domains with it, I use it on like 3 websites I own. I barely ever use the accounts though.
