Lol what. Literally no president impeached had criminal charges brought up against them. Nixon resigned before impeachment and was pardoned despite not being charged with anything.
1868 - Andrew Johnson had 11 articles of impeachment against him for 'high crimes and misdemeanors'. It passed the house, so he was impeached, but did not pass the senate, so he was not removed. No criminal charges.
1988 - Bill Clinton had two articles of impeachment against him for obstruction of justice and sexual misconduct. It passed the house, so he was impeached, but did not pass the senate, so he was not removed. No criminal charges.
2019 - Donald Trump had two articles of impeachment against him for obstruction of justice and abuse of power. It passed the house, so he was impeached, but did not pass the senate, so he was not removed. Additional articles of impeachment being drafted. No criminal charges. -

There were 10 counts of it in the Mueller report and they're still voting on additional articles, just wait.
And again, impeachment isn't a criminal trial. None of those are criminal charges. He could be impeached for murder and it still wouldn't be a criminal charge. The criminal conviction happens in a different court. This is why Nixon was prematurely pardoned after resigning. The impeachment trial stopped right there. It was additional trial he was afraid of. -

The only constitutionally valid impeachment is one which contains allegations of high crimes or misdemeanors, which are criminal statutes. So, yes, for the impeachment to be constitutional, the impeachment must contain criminal statutes. Sure, the House can launch an unconstitutional impeachment (which is exactly what they did); nobody is arguing that. -

It's a crime if tried in a criminal court. Again, impeachment is not a criminal trial. Even if the senate convicts, you don't face jail time for it. You just get removed and are ineligible to run again. There would be a separate criminal trial not run by Congress.
