Are you an Atheist?

  1. #1
Atheism can be described as faithlessness, what is faith? Faith is believing in the existence of a theory or concept. Scientific theory is different from faith because it deals with observation and experimentation. Religious faith is earnestly seeking out and believing in concepts or ideas i.e to please a deity.

What does this have to do with Atheism and Science? most Atheists have faith in scientific theories and concepts. It's generally accepted that a goal of science is the betterment of humanity and knowledge of the universe. I see no reason why a moral, scientific person with faith in concepts and ideas that improve the human race and our understanding of the universe would not be fulfilling the will of God.

Churches do not consider Atheists to be part of their faith. Atheism is just another school of Trianglist thought and the discussion and debate of such concepts only improves our understanding of our faiths and beliefs. Atheism and Theism are separate but these concepts are becoming obsolete as we gain more knowledge.

God and Science are not equal concepts. Maybe the ultimate truth is the equalization of these concepts.

    What?

You have to be just as faithful as a theist to be an atheist.

I believe in waiting to see the evidence before drawing conclusions. That said, in the absence of evidence all we have is conjecture and every argument in support of the existence of god can be refuted with logical reasoning. So it's not looking very good for god right now

We are not worthy to have God revealed upon us. We must reveal him ourselves.

It is not wise to consider our perception of reality as absolute, objective, or true.

The existence of "altered" (that word is moot as it implies that one state may be more valid than another, which is is also foolish) states of consciousness proves this. The above adjectives also become moot as you discover this concept.

All states are equal but different.
