Unfortunately during that bastrop wild fire everything they had burnt to the ground but their doing better now.

    Yup,

My neighbors dog was a Great Dane, huge thing...It killed 2 pregnant goats (so 4 goats), dozens of chickens and pheasants, and was probably responsible for knocking over the quails a few times. I went to the neighbor and told him to keep it off my land and chained up...he got smartass with me and said I had no proof it was his dog.

I went to Wallyworld and bought a shotgun for $79. A couple weeks later i had a day off work and heard a ruckus outside...looked out the window and there was the Great Dane with a chicken in it's mouth (and a golden retriever buddy with him).

I got the shotgun and put one of those slug shots in it and went outside...I shot the great dane which just yelped and then started walking towards me so I put a regular cartridge in and shot it again...it finally went down at my feet as it reached me...the golden retriever took off running at the first shot, never saw it again.

When the kids got home from School I had them drag the body out to the back (behind my 6 acres was 10,000 acres of national forest).

    Job done.

ETA: at first I'd called animal control and the cops...(we were about 10 miles outside of town), Animal control said they don't come out of city limits (Conroe) and the cops said "just shoot it if you see it on your land".
The following users say it would be alright if the author of this post didn't die in a fire!

They didn't mention superfoods once. They were talking about how cows should be grass fed and not mass slaughtered in factories.

I forgot the E.Coli outbreaks are caused by this and there have been a lot in my area recently. I worked at a slaughterhouse last year and it was disgusting. The drinking fountains tasted like ammonia because they had pipes transporting anhydrous ammonia spraying it everywhere constantly to disinfect things.

It was one of the most unproductive fucked up places I ever worked and I quit shortly after because everyone there was a retard and didn't care about health and safety. I talked to people that were starting with me and they all came from another slaughterhouse but all quit because of how bad it was there.

Lots of people got injured and nobody cares. It's lame as fuck, I wanted to try and make that job work but everything was just too retarded. It was easy work but mostly just standing around because of how ineffecient everything was.

Supposed to be 8 hours but every day I would end up working longer hours because of production line issues. literally standing in a cold freezer for an hour waiting for more cows to come down the line and we couldn't just stop or take breaks to warm up, we just had to wait.

But nobody cared because they were all immigrants with no ability to think for themselves so they just see it as free money for standing around. When I work overtime I like it to be because there is extra work that I need to spend more effort and time to complete, and I feel like I earned that extra money.

But getting constant overtime standing around I wasn't going to learn anything and I decided it wasn't worth my time to be there.

How to transfer anhydrous ammonia safely and operate a CO2 kill chamber and learn to handle and transport pressurized cylinders of gases. That's what I signed up to do

cant you learn on the side ?

go talk to people who do those things and maybe offernthem help ?

I don't know anyone that messes around with anhydrous ammonia and co2 gas chambers but if I did they would be my best friend.

Did you use the goats for milk and sell the quayles to restaurants? I tried locally sourced quayle last summer and it was good but they took them off the menu because evidently they are too far and few between here.

Yes the wife made cheese out of the goats (and milk though I never drank it)...we sold the eggs to resturants not the quail...the plan was eventually to sell the quail but we'd need more than 250 to do that...250 was enough for the eggs we were selling but not for eating as well. We had a bank of 4 incubators and would hatch our own (The yield was about 40% that actually hatched).

Quail eggs are a pain in the ass to peel. She'd sell a jar of 50 pickled to restaurants...many an evening we'd sit at the kitchen table peeling quail eggs, I had no idea how much she was getting per bottle. One day I said "How much are you selling these for"..."$10-$20 a jar depending on the restaurant" said said..."WTF...I'm spending my fucking evenings peeling these things for $10??"...I didn't peel anymore.

ETA: Quail eggs are delicious though...seems like it's mostly yolk and little white.

Probably...again this was 18 or so years ago. I know they had a machine for chicken eggs because I got one of those but never looked into one for quail eggs.
