my uncle bought something similar years ago when 64GB was the most you could fit on a thumb drive. he bought one for $5 and it just failed the moment you wrote more than 256mb to it - turns out they'd just overwritten the firmware on a 256mb drive and the computer just shit the bed when it was unable to write past that point

1) Okay, but eBay only cares about the last 12 months of reviews
2) 96% over 2000+ reviews isn't good. That means for ever 25 sales made 1 person isn't satisfied.

Many many years ago I ordered a 16gb MP3/MP4 player off Ebay for $8 or something. I knew it wasn't actually going to be 16gb as it was from China and at the time 16gb MP3 players were far more costly.
I was going to rely on Ebays buyer protection.
So the MP3/4 player showed up, a neat little thing with a screen on it for videos etc...sure enough it was faked, it was actually only 2gb not 16gb after running one of those apps that "fix" faked memory.
I messaged the seller and said "Hey this is fake", he said "what do you want to do?" I said "Send me another one that is really 16gb"...a few week later another one showed up exactly the same.
I emailed him again and said "this other one is only 2gb too I want my money back"...He gave me a full refund (knowing ebay would anyway)...so I got 2x 2gb MP3/4 players for free.
...you could do the same with this drive, It's probably going to be a 16 or 32gb I'm guessing.
ETA: I have one of them here at work actually doing the background music on our "on hold" music for the phone system..I'll take a pic
