Jaguar XKR : The Dragon Tail run to Mt. Mitchell/BRP NC.
-
2019-11-18 at 2:28 AM UTCTook the XKR on the revered Dragon Tail run to Blue Ridge Parkway Mt. Mitchell it's a great run through the TENN-NC mountains sure to test your ride's comfort & performance if you know how to whip those roads lol. The car performed flawlessly & I topped out @ 101 MPH @ one point. Passed a couple black bears & it was real scenic w/ the cloud cover @ elevation.
1st time since getting the car earlier this year that I've had a chance to put her to work @ winding elevated conditions.

this is my color. But I like that color too.. bullet silver or charcoal or black
Mine's a 2010 XKR 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 , correct 2015 was the last run. I'll end up w/ a British Racing Green convertible when I'm done, just the price & condition, mileage, location of this silver one was impossible to pass up. -

You want it that classic dark green. like evergreen. real drab green. very 60s color.
thumbs up G.
it's hard to take a photo apparently and get that Green you remember.. it's nostalgic. at least for my monitor this is the best that expressed that green

2020-01-08 at 4:30 AM UTCYeah my classic X308's BRG it flip flops from green to black depending on lighting.

Actually got the X308 in Snowshoe West Va. right now, handling the snow & mountains like a thoroughbred lol -
2020-01-08 at 4:49 AM UTCYeah I think they use a real dark blue "clear coat" over the green.
I forgot what the style of painting is where you have these duel coatings and you can have a dark blue car with a eggshell or pearl white clear coating (like 10 layers) and buffed and waxed for 5-6 hours before throwing it under sunlamps (old school)
then your blue car would look white under a street light at night. it's a trip if done right. My royal navy blue dodge ram 1500 had a weird cobalt violet lavender glow at night. like on the highway with shitloads of road lamps. -

Lol you drive bicycles and tiburons like some faggot from a Dr. Suess book
That car looks sick for a lil 2 seatin bitch and that seems like a beautiful scenic drive. Smokey Mountains sounds like a cool park. Why do you favor Jags so much? Don't say "because they're the best" because they're not, I like them a lot too, mostly because my mom would always tell me they were her favorite cars growing up and I've always wanted to buy her a sick old Jag. I drive my friends g35 or whatever when I feel like it but it's too big and doesn't handle the best, plus I'm hard on the interior and am always eating or with children. Looks like lots of fun for you though -

I buy what I like & have always liked Jags & there's nothing that handles the highways like a properly sorted Jaguar. "Grace, space & pace" indeed.
I had an eccentric uncle who always had Jags,Aston Martins etc. he was a childhood favorite of mine so that definitely had a bearing.
I still love Lexus,Corvette & Infiniti(I own a 2016 Q50) but they're more cookie cutter cars. I like cars that have a presence in the sea of clones. -

2020-05-06 at 2:38 PM UTCI miss my XK8 convertible... but the OP is so beautiful. And the scenery omg! Stunning. I wasn’t a fan of how my jag handled, honestly. And at 60k miles started having all kinds of really annoying intermittent issues, that cost a lot of money to not get problems resolved ... Jags are still IMHO one of the sexiest cars in the world tho.
