It's usually by the side of the spot, not the exact spot...crosses in the middle of the road really would be a pain in the ass. Clearly it's a warning to drivers "Hey, pay attention to the road motherfinger instead of looking at the crosses and pretty flowers or you'll have your own gotdang cross here and we'll have families then competing for flower space which will cause more distractions and more crosses and more families fighting at the side of the road..which in turn will cause...etc etc" -

I wonder if anyone has run over someone while distracted looking at the white cross. -

2020-01-08 at 12:27 AM UTCCrosses aren't common here in Denmark, although they do show up once in a while on the rural roads. The crosses I've seen in Poland tend to be made out of plastic piping, and going through a motorcycle helmet where the pipes cross, so I reckon that they are crosses put up for riders that ate the dirt in that spot. In Denmark we tend to leave wreaths, flowers and candles where someone croaked, usually it's just a small arrangement put up by their closest relatives and so on, and the candles and so on rarely stay there for more than a month, tops. In Poland, they seem to be more of a permanent thing to me.

Originally posted by Jiggaboo_Johnson Crosses, flowers, there is even a bicycle painted white and chained to a power pole near where I live. Apparently the dude loved his bike and was killed on it…so they got a bike (presumably another one), painted it white so it looks like something an angel would ride, got permission off the local gov and then put it there, I'm surprised no one has stolen it yet.
same thing in my hood, ive never seen that before. but it looks like a piece of shit so no one would steal it plus i don't live around nigs like you do that would steal a monument to someones perish. -
2020-01-08 at 1:18 AM UTCIt is. If it's a child, Often their favorite toy is tied to a stop sign that was nearby a crosswalk.
as mentioned. The white bicycle is very common in California. I see it all the time. A cross or maybe some other religious figure like a Star of David. though not as common.
then all the flowers built up on the side of the road or corner intersection. usually is there for a few weeks then only a cross and occasional fresh flowers are brought over.. sometimes years. -
