Qassem Soleimani, the leader of Iran's elite Quds Force, was killed late Thursday in a U.S. airstrike that targeted a convoy near the airport in Baghdad.

2020-01-03 at 3:39 AM UTCI don't know if this will work. These types of killings only seem to work against groups that are very low tech to the point of relying exclusively on guerrilla and assymetrical warfare capabilities. Groups that need a figurehead.
Iran has jets and tanks and stuff. -

Comparable to SAS circa 1955. Assumed to have a battlefield survivability of two weeks or less. Most people who join the military assume they may die, not that they will. Not many people are prepared to go to guaranteed death. -
