Trump has said many things that he never fulfilled, and this is one of them.

why would you think this is any different? -
2019-12-30 at 10:17 PM UTCRed flag laws are only relevant in places where universal background checks are a thing.
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Any guns that you have bought before a universal background check law, moreso any firearms that you have bought in a private sale without a paper trail, is immune from any confiscation, be it red flag laws or whatever else.
A mere few years ago almost no states had a universal background check law. Most of these states also did not require you to register gun/ notify of a sale/ notify of theft/ notify of destruction.
Any guns that you already owned before a universal background check law was passed in your state (if any) can be simply hidden. Should the cops ask you where the gun is, you can say "I sold it before the universal background check law, and was not required to document it as per state law", "It was stolen from me, and I was not required to report it as per state law",
"I lost it while doing _____ and was not required by state law to report it as per state law back then".
In order for law enforcement to track a firearm, they need to physically go into an FFL (gun store) to read physical bound books. This takes time and money, and is not at all ideal. When they find a serialized gun in a crime scene they contact either the importer or the manufacturer (if its made domestically), and then they ask the manufacturer or importer which wholesaler they sold the gun to, then they ask the wholesaler which distributor they sold it to, then which gun shop/any myriad of sellers they sent it to, etc. etc. etc. And at the end of it all, the person whos name is on paper could simply state the aforementioned excuses as to why they are no longer in possession of the firearm in question.
Red flag laws only work if people have registered firearms. The cops can come to you and demand you surrender all firearms that you have (according to whatever list of firearms they think you have), some of which you can likely tell em you legally do not have anymore, some of which might be home made, some of which you may actually surrender (do not).
The best choice in a case of confiscation is simply to keep calm and return fire. It is better to live free or die.
Faggot mexicans need not apply to this sincerely shared knowledge; they have no place in this world. -
