You can console yourself really that you're not living your life as a slave who does whatever the TV and children's books says are appropriate and cool.
Christmas can be a holiday, Christmas can be for Jesus, why is every Christmas a turkey and gift giving?
You can feel sadness at the condition of the human race and its conformity due to weakness of the generic human personality conditioned through institutionalization beginning at pre school and authority figures such as teachers coming down on talking in class, making people feel small leading to personality changes of an unnatural expression, causing psychological damage and long term maladaptations, as well as the police, who get teenagers for loitering at the mall or near the bus stop.

Just feel bad about the authority we are confronted with.
What makes it worse is that the people who have stronger personalities, either due to strong personal convictions relating to a sense of injustice, or due to genetic factors, are stigmatized and labelled as problem children, confrontational or even oppositional defiance disorder.
This type of person then drops out of society, finding their only means of support and community in the places that haven't rejected them, such as in crime or other subcultures.
Egalitarian, altruistic people end up becoming the scourge of society.
And this happens because people in authority demand to modify your behaviour in to becoming a slave to the system.
The social ills we experience and witness are due to the system demanding institutionalization.

These are really bad people. They know what they're doing to the human race, and they're happy to do it.

the whole thing is designed to be a buzzkill when you think about it. if you don't have people that love you, it's something that affects your day to day life, and christmas is just a day out of the year that brings attention to the fact so that you can wallow, even though you've been living in that condition already. and if you do have people that love you, nobody actually wants to see each other, they just pretend they do.
