Where an acre of land in some areas of the deep south can be bought for 500-1000 USD still (with access to sewer and water, electrical line infrastructure running next to properties even)
A trailer home might be that of families who make less than 29k a year.
But even they live a higher quality of life compared to people in San Francisco who make twice that much and stuggle in poverty at 55k a year
there are literally Million Dollar Trailer parks in the Wine Country and they don't look much fancier than these. pre owned trailer homes having to pay like 1800 a month or more on a lot. they could sell those trailers homes even with an HMO of 1800-2200 a month for parking a shitbox on for 700k and nicer ones for 1.2 Million
What do you get in return. Drier hot weather and lack of ice storms near an ocean and some of them coastal with boat docks.
It's all a delusion. it's not worth paying that yet people are so desperate to own a piece of the pie in the choice part of America waiting for the "Big One" to strike on one of it's 7 major fault lines.
it's weird to see Northern California now. Where I can't even afford to live in a once shitty fucking apartment complex going for 3500 for a 2 bedroom in the once Ghetto part of town. Half of those Apartments aren't even updated. still the same shitty square boxes.
But even those HillBillies live a luxury life compared to the fully employed Californians living out of their cars trying to save for a lot of land to move out of California one day. it's hard to save money out here.
And a car is a luxury to live out of compared to third world shanty towns in India or South Africa. at least it has electricity to plug devices into and a heater to warm you up or AC to cool you down. -
