Been playing this the last few days, pretty fun game. You pick a pirate to play as, each session you choose the size of ship you want to use which determines how large your crew can get. You can play with friends or other random pirates. You sail around with your crew going on various voyages you can vote on, loading up your ship with loot, trying to bring the loot to somewhere you can sell it before another crew of pirates attacks you and plunders your booty. If you manage to make some gold you can spend it on customizations for your pirate or your ship. Buying new weapons and gear is entirely cosmetic and does not affect your performance. Sailing the ship gets more complicated with the larger ships, much easier if you have a good team and a headset to communicate with. Solve puzzles, dig up treasure, attack others, go fishing, hunt the kraken, get drunk on grog, play pirate instruments... it's all here.

Yeah I think so, I believe they added story missions and more random events. I'm planning on trying it out this weekend. But as far as "nothing to do", isn't there always other people to fuck with? That's probably the best part of any online game, the interactions you can have with other players. Who wants to "play the game" when you can just ruin it for others?
