Ever make a shell script for ricing?

   Me neither, but i cycle through OS' like a motherfucker so i am considering it. I am very particular with the way i want my system to look like. My baseline is Backbox Ubuntu, that's like my go to OS for any situation because it has most everything i need. I got shell scripts for everything it doesn't have except ricing. Backbox runs Gnome or Xfce out of the box but i'm comfortable with Open Box as well.
   
   Any tips? Or links? Or code i can yeet into my collection of hand dandy things to have around?

   You're not that rich, you don't have that much time on your hand. Just get visual logic or CAD and make paintings like a normal people. Pen and paper.

   I keep most my dotfiles in version control and have some simple scripts for installing them. I work on OSX a lot though and for a good chunk of the stuff I want there isn't a super reliable way to install/configure from the CLI (I've set up my divvy hotkeys like two dozen times by now)

   Which one are you using now? Any recommendations? I've heard people pusing xmonad but I can't tell if that's just haskell memeing or not.

   I've been using i3/sway (pretty much the same thing, x11 vs. wayland). looks pretty enough and is fast and efficient once you get the shortcut keys down - I haven't done a whole lot of customisation though outside of setting up a few plugins to my liking. I've more or less been forced to go back to windows for day-to-day work stuff

   I have an install script that'll install most of my programs, import settings for them, and make other small changes on appearance(like removing OS logos, changing colors, etc). Importing the settings file for Compiz takes care of most.
   
   I might change to a new flavor of Linux next year.
