Getting out of getting pulled over
-
2019-12-13 at 12:30 AM UTCI used to have a Radio Shack 200-channel programmable scanner that you could set to auto-scan the local frequencies and lock into and register open channels in a list, so I could go back later and tune in to them to see what they were and who was using them. I'd get corrections department channels, private security channels, city channels, post office channels, delivery channels, you name it. Was very easy to discover the local police channels and find out where they were at all times, as they'd always keep updating their locations. Very nice device, and you can even buy them to this day.

My uncle had a police scanner when I was a kid and I absolutely adored it. -

Originally posted by Sudo this definitely happened. My boss was breaking into a lumber yard with his son, who was the 911 caller. I really wish I was making this up
That's stupid and it doesnt make sense to my scenario. My person calls 911 on a kid playground shooting from a burner phone. Theres no way the dispatcher immediately knows its fake. -
2019-12-13 at 12:38 AM UTCThis is the baby right here. There's a couple on E-Bay.

They knew it was fake because they were in a car traveling on a highway and he called saying he was being tortured in his home and gave a fake name and address where they clearly weren't
I'm saying they can ping the call to a very specific area i.e. the side of a road with a damn cop right next to you. They're gonna say you're full of shit if they see where you are and have heard exactly 0 other reports of a mass shooting. Plus cops usually don't leave a call in progress for something else unless they're incredibly short staffed and have an all unit type bullitan over something they know is serious. Plus people mostly get pulled over for DUI at night where people wouldn't be shooting up schools. etc. etc. etc. infinity I have to believe you're trollin rite? -

They can't triangulate very short calls accurately, you watch too much TV. -

this happened to people I know. On TV the only time you ever see that is in a hostage situation and they're trying to figure out where the call is coming from. They definitely did in this case which was in a relatively rural area too. -

The call must be substantial in air time, if not they can only triangulate down to a tower or small group of towers if in a congested/urban area. -

Buddy told me the dispatcher said the road they were driving on (previously I said it was a highway but its just the main road between rural communities)and when he did he panicked and they got pulled over shortly after -
2019-12-13 at 9:32 AM UTCWait for the cop to come to the window then drive off. If it wasn't for front cameras and driving a piece of shit car this would be plausable.

No they wouldn't. That's why I said burner phone. Whatever. The scenario is where I have a bunch of heroin in my trunk so it's gone by then. They can come back with mu license plate give me the initial turning without a a signal charge if they want
once they realize it was a prank call they'll triangulate the position of the burner phone when the call was made and soon realize it was made from the car just in front of the cops vehicle at the exact time they were pulling you over. even a dummy could figure then that you made the call to avoid getting pulled over by the cops. there's at least 3 felonies involved there then.
and control freaks absolutely hate people fucking with them like that. they'll go out of their way to fuck you up.
