Exactly. Gold and silver are finite resources. There is already not enough gold to go round, and before long, that will be the case with silver. Just another example of why i don't take OP seriously.

It won't matter, in the end. Gold and silver will be worthless, and they will be hurling it into the streets and into the sky as cursed, because they can't eat it, nor can they drink it. Nobody to buy, nobody to sell. Whoever said that a fool and his money are not easily parted. Oh, yes, they are very easily parted. And that time is coming. And it's coming much sooner than people imagine.

Once the power grids go down permanently, cryptocurrency will disappear. The ability to make electronic transactions will disappear. There will be no working ATMS. No Internet access. Life as we know it all hinges upon the power grids. Once they're gone, it's game over. Gold and silver won't do you any good, because no one will take it. People aren't going to give you a loaf of bread or a glass of fresh water for even a pound of gold.

The problem with Gold and Silver is that people hold on to it like it was glue. It's a lot easier to spend $1500 on a computer than it is to swap a gold coin for that same computer. Gold and Silver make you acutely aware of the value of money, and people always tend to try to hoard it - at home which is worse.

I read something recently by an Irish central banker in the 1920s or 1930s about how pleased he was that an uptick in robberies and crime had forced people to deposit their coins, which contained much needed silver, in banks, as opposed to hoarding them at home.

In addition money is also the extension of credit by business, and physical metal is not conducive to that purpose.

In short, anyone who advocates for hard money is retarded.
