    Because it's political.

Judges and police chiefs are political appointments. They are appointed by politicians. A politician is motivated by politics. For example, when you say you are sad about poverty, you are sad about poverty. When a politician says they want to do something about poverty, it has a social or economic outcome, or is related to electioneering.

    Proof:

Poverty could be eliminated. Grants for cultural affairs such as art installations are up there in the billions of dollars. Put that money towards section 8 housing and social security and poverty is gone. However this does not happen. Ironically the people from the cultural sectors of society such as artists and academics are always the ones going on about inequality and poverty but they never turn down a grant or highlight their entitled privilege in their crusade to make us feel bad about wage inequality and people being held back by society.

    More proof:

Collateral damage is acceptable in war. The intended outcome of war is to deliver a victory, politically, socially and militarily. This is proven by the fact MISO operations exist. A human is a number to these people. You have no value. You are a system, a process, sometimes related to cost push economics in manufacturing. Not a person.

So anyway, people are appointed to these roles by politicians who are going to choose people based upon their political reliability. They therefore appoint people who worship the system above all else. The police are a part of that system, using fear and brutality if necessary to stop the filth rising up. They will excuse the police. They would issue the pokice with with whips if they thought we were oppressed enough.

Please be aware it is usually a family thing regarding people who get here. There are lineages of police, judges, politicians etc. It looks corrupt and it is, but not how you're thinking.

These people need security clearances. They trust their own to inform on their children and their suitability to advance within government. Security vetting is how they get there. It is a cult. They are ideologues. They will not rule impartially. They will rule to prove their loyalty to the cult.

    That is all.

Who is gonna replace them though?

If we had good people as cops, would they be prepared to walk "the thin blue line"?

One one hand, there would be less radicalization because that is generally caused by resentment against the state as the main motivator rather than the desire to make the world a better place. From this we would have less divisions in society, less Russian electoral interference, less political violence and more peace and harmony. Western cultural institutions would not be on the verge of extinction. There would not be constant pushes against the state. People would not feel like their lives have been unjustifiably interfered with my the police when they have done nothing wrong.

But what about people who are motivated to cause disturbances for any other reason? Like the people who are bullies and have no desire to control their urges to make other people feel not at peace? Sexual harassment is something you gotta control, why not this?

Will these people be out of control without little men in blue uniforms having to prove their masculinity by standing up to the big scary men with their authority to legally assault people and carry a gun?

police need to be held to a higher standard and paid significantly more so that actually-suitable applicants enter the police force rather than sociopaths, shift-workers and the overly-aggressive

It's not the pay. The pay is pretty good. A cop can earn as much as a university graduate in their first year. It's just that the pay doesn't get much better, unlike with university graduates who can double their income in 10-15 years if they get promoted, though not everyone can be the general manager and end up on $200k.

Many people have no desire to become police. There are not many people who would be happy arresting people for being drunk in public on their 21st birthday. Police relish it.
